The Scientific Computation Center was established in 20/7/1970 as a special unit to provide services in the computer technology field to Alexandria University and the Community.
The main activity of the center is to provide training courses to students and the community to make them familiar to computers.
These training courses include:
- Introduction to Computers and Applications Overview
- Microsoft Windows XP and Internet Browsing
- LINUX Operating System
- Introduction to .net and Java Virtual Machine programming
- Programming Visual BASIC using .net
- Java Programming
- C++ Programming
- Systems Analysis & Design
- PC Assembly Language Programming
- Database Management Systems (Access, Oracle, MySQL)
- Database Management Systems (Access, Oracle, MySQL)
- Database Programming (Access, Oracle, MySQL)
- Microsoft Office Suite

- 3D-Studio VIZ
- Matlab
- Adobe PhotoShop
- Hardware Maintenance for PCs
- Computer Networks
Other activites provided by the center include:
Developing software for organizations (for ex. Shatby Pediatric Hospital Registration System)
- Producing Statistical Analysis for postgraduate students in different fields using SPSS as a statistical package
- The SCC also manages the hardware installation of the Alexandria University Network, along with the management of the hosting of the Alexandria University web site and the different web sites related to Alexandria University.
