The study of sciences was allocated at the faculty of sciences in the Egyptian Universities, which had activities that contain the traditional branches of chemical science. In 1944, the first Chemical Engineering Department was established at the faculty of Engineering of the First Fouad University (now Cairo). Then in 1944 the study in the industrial chemistry in the Faculty of Sciences at the first Farouk University (now Alexandria) was established. In 1954 it was relocated the faculty of engineering under the name Chemical Engineering department.
