01611

Advanced Architectural Design

A comprehensive applied curriculum including combined topics and projects requiring vision and depth in design, dealing with design technologies within the general framework of architectural design. The selected topics represent problems stressing social, technological and environmental issues of the functions, forms and aesthetic aspects of buildings. The curriculum includes lectures, discussions, presentations, group discussions, readings and researches covering the application.

01612

Special Studies in Architectural Design

Providing different topics of interest in information, research or research topics related to concepts and practice in architectural design. These topics will be studied in , group Discussions and will provide the basis for advanced architectural design applications. It leads to study and research proposals.

01613

Criticism & Theory of Architecture

Study of the critical assessment of contemporary topics in architectural design. The study is in the form of projects and writings about architects, criticism explanation and historical analysis, selected topics are on the theory of change in culture and architecture and the intellectual expression of concept, symbolism and formation, functional and actual problems, social analysis, space recognition and organization

01614

Special Studies in History & Theory of Architecture

Analytical study directed to historical topics related to contemporary theories in architecture and realized through different research and criticism methodologies. The topics are related to the architecture of pre-historical civilization & pre-industrial revolution’s European architecture and the modern schools of the Twentieth Century.

01615

Architecture Heritage Conservation

Study of contemporary practices and technologies in repair and maintenance and rehabilitation through documenting and analyzing selected projects for study. Candidates collect and analyze inputs and define the main problems to preserve heritage. They present proposals to the maintenance process clarifying the interacting features between the maintenance process, cultural and architectural values, social priorities motivations, the economical side and the global trend towards modernization.

01616

The Architectural Conception

A practical and theoretical study on the implementation and merging of digital and multimedia technologies to simulate architectural projects. The curriculum allows practical study of the concept and design through computers, surrounding environment concepts in addition to Mentor graphics technologies, animation and digital television tools

01543

Design Methodology & Analysis

Search in the concepts and methodology of architectural programs and the interacting relation between architectural programs and the design process, planning for the design process, different technologies to define the components of architectural programs, primary conditions, sources, issues, defining different solutions for given problems by using texts and models with similar significance. The curriculum focuses on selected topics with contemporary design challenges.

01621

Advanced Technologies in Buildings

Lectures and group discussion on buildings construction, stressing the interaction between the construction process with other building processes such as mechanical systems, internal spaces system. The curriculum also teaches contemporary methods in the construction process focusing on construction materials and creative systems

01622

Energy Conservation

Studying different sources of renewable energy and their sustainability in the use of buildings, focusing on thorough understanding of the characteristics of energy, models of design practices and trainings, Researches in effective integration of energy requirements in buildings, technologies and potential uses.

01623

Interacting Systems in Building

Designing mechanical methods necessary for the works of mega buildings, such as air ventilation & conditioning, security systems, fire fighting, sanitary works, vertical and horizontal circulation elements, communications and electric power distribution, with the presence of an analytical approach to these systems, their interaction and effects on the architectural masses of the building and means of their operation

01624

Projects Management

An introduction to design management tools and technologies , construction projects management and implementation, being an interactive process. The topics include construction economics, construction process planning, contracting and scheduling, labour productivity, materials and equipment management , site visits to explain and apply studied technologies on site.

01512

Environmental Design of Buildings

The curriculum focuses on identifying the different available technologies to the architect to find links between the internal and external environment in buildings. The curriculum components cover buildings design methods and theory responding to the surrounding climate, natural energies, human thermal comfort, the directions and movements of the sun, tools of controlling sun light and heat, use of plants to ameliorate the small interior climate.

01517

Environmental Control in Buildings

An advanced study of environmental control systems and the tangible environmental factors , in addition to the development of building systems , services, construction systems, materials and components of the system, psychological factors, analysis methods and computing technologies

01519

Sustainable Architecture

Studying different approaches in energy design and the sources which help the interaction between architectural design and culture, community and the economic aspects in certain areas, topics covering masses of the building, construction materials- and methods, monitoring & control systems, focusing on the processes of establishing, developing and implementing the project.
